John Lennon's detention sheet makes $3,780

John Lennon's school detention sheet has sold for £2,500 ($3,786).

The 1955-56 document from Liverpool's Quarry Bank High School auctioned within estimate at Sotheby's Rock and Pop auction this afternoon.

'No Hwk', 'Impertinence', 'Talk after 2 warnings' and 'Further talk' are among the future Beatle's transgressions.

Lennon was a pupil at Quarry Bank from 1952 to 1957. He used the name as the inspiration for his first band, the Quarrymen.

The sheet was saved from a fire at the school in the 1970s.

A historic contract the Beatles signed with manager Brian Epstein sold for £365,000 ($553,000) at the same sale.
