Bob Dylan unrecorded lyrics to auction on December 4

Bob Dylan's handwritten lyric sheets to two of his unrecorded songs are to cross the block at Christie's New York on December 4.

Titled Go Away You Bomb (valued at $30,000-50,000) and Talking Folklore Center ($40,000-60,000), the lyrics are among the highlights of a sale of Fine Printed Books and Manuscripts.

Dylan lyrics Christies
Bob Dylan wrote the lyrics during the early 1960s

The folk singer gave the sheets to Izzy Young, director of New York's Folklore Center, during the 1960s.

The organisation was key to the success of many folk singers during the 1960s and a strong source of inspiration for Dylan. Young also managed to get Dylan his first major show - at Carnegie Hall in 1961.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: "At first Dylan seemed like anybody else that came into the store.

"But I noticed after a while there was something different about him. He would take every goddamn record I had in the store and listen to them. He was the only one that read all those scholarly communist books, as well as all the folk magazines. Anything I had in the store, he would read."

Original lyrics by Dylan are always in demand due to his extraordinary contribution to music.

Earlier this year a manuscript copy of Like a Rolling Stone made a pop music manuscript world record $2m at Sotheby's.
