Individual strands of the Beatles’ hair have sold for a combined $11,208 at Catawiki.
The hair was cut on the set of A Hard Day's Night in 1964
Intriguingly, Paul McCartney’s hair was the most valuable (achieving $3,358) while John Lennon’s made $1,552.
George Harrison and Ringo Starr went for $3,250 and $3,233, respectively.
This is extremely unusual, as memorabilia relating to Lennon is usually the most sought after of the four due to his icon status.
While hair collecting may seem unusual, it has a history stretching back hundreds of years. Find out more here.
