Beatles 1962 official contract to auction at Sotheby's

The Beatles' official 1962 contract with Brian Epstein is up for auction at Sotheby's London.

The lot is expected to make up to £500,000 ($763,012) in the September 29 sale.

Beatles Wiki
The band signed the contract with Brian Epstein in October 1962

The document dates to October 1962. The band had already signed one contract in January, but it was never signed by Epstein, and Ringo Starr had yet to join.

This is thus the first contract to feature the full line-up.

It offers a fascinating insight into Epstein's management of the band, which included authority over their wardrobes and hairstyles.

In addition, John Lennon has mistakenly signed twice.

Another Beatles contract, which they signed during their time in Hamburg during the early 1960s, is to auction at Heritage.

We have an incredible selection of Beatles memorabilia for sale, including this rare signed copy of A Hard Day's Night.

The sale will also feature a handwritten and signed copy of 2Pac's lyrics to Ambition Az a Ridah (circa 1995).

It's expected to make £30,000-50,000 ($45,786-76,311).

The market for memorabilia associated with the rapper has increased extensively; Christie's sold the manuscript lyrics for The Case of the Misplaced Mic for $1,554 in 2004.

Earlier this year a set of unpublished letters he sent to a female acquaintance from prison made $59,625 at Bonhams New York.
