A Hacienda club urinal is among a huge collection of memorabilia from Manchester, UK's infamous late 1980s to early 1990s period selling in a single lot on eBay.
The urinal, now converted into a display cabinet, stood in the toilets of the infamous Hacienda nightclub (1982-1997) which was described as the most famous nightclub in the world by Newsweek magazine in the 1990s. It was an early venue for some of the most renowned Manchester bands and a key location in the rise of Acid House and Rave music.
Financed by Factory Records mogul Tony Wilson, the club featured a dazzling range of performers in its 15-year lifespan. Bands and artists such as the Smiths, Madonna, Primal Scream and the Stone Roses performed there and the club was instrumental in the rise in popularity of dance music in the UK, leading to the second summer of love in 1988-89.

In 2000, almost all fixtures and fittings from the Hacienda, including the DJ booth, bricks and seating, were sold - raising £18,000 ($28,161) for a Manchester youth charity.
The collection also features posters, records and promotional material for various bands, including an extremely rare green flexi disk seven-inch record of Joy Division's Komakino and a number of autographed items. The collection has a starting bid of £15,000 ($23,509) and the auction ends on September 17.
Often famed nightclubs will have lock and stock sales, recent examples being CBGB's in New York, which sold up in 2011, and a recent auction of memorabilia pertaining to Studio 54 founder Steve Rubell. In such cases it is the unique history of the items that drive their value.
