A rare first printing of F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby with the original dust jacket is to auction at Nate D Sanders with a minimum bid of $40,000.
The auction is due to run until February 27.
The edition features a number of characteristic errors, including a mistype of Union Street Station on page 211 and a lowercase j corrected in ink on the back of the jacket.

Although the jacket displays tearing and paper loss, its rarity makes it desirable in any condition. In 2009, a copy in exceptional condition made $180,000 at Bonhams New York.
Another copy in a similar condition to the present example made $46,875 at Heritage Auctions in October 2013.
