A prototype stormtrooper helmet made for Star Wars: A New Hope is featured in an auction at Nate D Sanders with a minimum bid of $5,000.

It was designed by Andrew Ainsworth in 1976 and is one of six test-pieces, which feature a unique ribbed edge that was not included in the final design.
A spokesman for Nate D Sanders told the Daily Mail: "The prototypes were a work in progress and show the evolution of the stormtrooper helmet.
"Our estimate is very conservative - it could easily go for $20,000 or more. Star Wars collectors are a very passionate bunch and they are often willing to pay big bucks for original items of memorabilia, especially something as rare as this."
