A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible once owned by rocker Bruce Springsteen has sold for $468,000, far above its starting price of $390,000.
The V8 yellow convertible, which features orange flames, was the artist's first vehicle, bought in 1975 for just $2,000.
Springsteen is believed to have composed Backstreets, Thunder Road and Born to Run in the car.
The Gotta Have Rock and Roll online auction attracted plenty of interest among classic car enthusiasts and investors.
Springsteen sold the car in 1976 when he found that its striking appearance brought him too much attention.

The winning bidder also received the vehicle's original registration papers and an Allstate insurance card with Springsteen's name and address.
A signed Springsteen Born to Run album made $2,404 at the same auction.
