A fantastic tin-plate toy market produced by one of the oldest manufacturers of tin toys in the world, Rock & Graner, is coming to Bonhams on May 21.

The extremely rare market stall was produced circa 1875, and will sell with a ?4,000-6,000 ($6,700-10,000) estimate in the Oxford, UK sale of Fine Toys & Soldiers.
Featuring a painted sign reading "Blumen-Obst-genuse-Markt" (flowers, fruit, vegetables, market), the stall is incredibly intricate, displaying finely painted meats, vegetables and flowers on a tiny scale - the whole piece measures just 42cm wide and 38cm deep.

Toy trains make up a large part of the sale, with a Bassett-Lowke electric British Railways 4-6-2 Duchess of Montrose locomotive 46232 and tender estimated at ?2,000-3,000 ($3,400-5,000). It will be followed by a Marklin Gauge I locomotive and tender at ?800-1,200 ($1,300-2,000).
The sale follows on from Bonhams' Fine Dolls on May 20 in Oxford, which will star one of the original Humpty dolls from BBC's Play School.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a wonderful selection of nostalgic collectibles for sale.
