We recently mentioned the exciting news that the piano on which Paul McCartney composed Yesterday (or rather its culinary precursor Scrambled Eggs) was set to sell, and that auction takes place next week.
However the auction, which takes place at the Theatre Royal in London courtesy of The Fame Bureau is not limited to one piece of spectacular music memorabilia.
Collectors and investors who are looking for something unique and very close to the genius of The King himself, Elvis Presley: his first music collection, which was held and looked after by Scotty Moore for decades. He explains the lot himself in a statement:
" I first met Elvis when he came to my house in Memphis to audition for me on the 4th of July 1954 [….] For 40 years, the records have never left my possession. These records were some of Elvis' first and all time favourite records.
"They influenced Elvis as a musician and vocalist for sure. They were to be part of the recorded music Bill and I created with Elvis back in the 1950's. And inspired us to create the music which later inspired the ones who came after us."
