An auction in Milan for the benefit of the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) was attended by many celebrities and raised $1.1m.

It cost $2,200 to $11,500 just to get in the room.

The auction included a leather jacket custom made by the DSquared2 label which Kanye West lost out on.

The successful bidder was Diesel designer Renzo Rosso.

The star item though was probably a pair of Swarovski crystal-studded boots which Michael Jackson was planning to wear during his This Is It performance in London's O2 arena.

They sold for $14,650.

Jackson memorabilia continues to grow in stature, with his glove and portrait recently going up for sale.
