Heritage is holding a historical-themed sale later this month. Amongst the 608 lots, one piece which will stand out for memorabilia collectors is a well-crafted light brown leather suitcase bearing a brass shell maker's logo of "Super Fortress" with a small airplane.
The initials "J.F.K." beneath the handle are clear, with appropriate light wear. A 2.5" "John F. Kennedy" sterling silver Tiffany name tag is attached to the carrying handle by a leather strap and again exhibits appropriate light wear.

This is President John F Kennedy's much used briefcase. The bag has excellent provenance: it passed to Kennedy's brother-in-law, Peter Lawford, and was purchased after his death from his widow.
A formal certificate of authentication from Manuscript Society member Dr. Bruce Foley of Los Angeles accompanies the suitcase. This is an especially nice, displayable JFK personally-owned item.
The guide price is $10,000-20,000, and it will sell in the live part of Heritage's auction on May 22 in Texas. Collectors of Presidential memorabilia may be interested in this campaign leaflet signed by both JFK and his wife Jackie, or this Presidential portfolio.
