Jean Cocteau's collection goes to auction

Friday, March 12 will see a sale of books, autographs and manuscripts at Drouot Richelieu.

Among the highlights will be the renowned collection of Jean Cocteau, the poet, novelist, artist and filmmaker, and his partner, the actor Jean Marais.

The collection, including manuscripts, photographs, drawings and correspondence, promises a number of treasures.

Cocteau's circle of associates, friends and lovers included Pablo Picasso, Jean Hugo, Henri Bernstein and Édith Piaf, most of whom are likely to factor in Drouot's auction.

Pre-sale exhibitions are being held today and tomorrow (March 2-3), in Paris.
