The shawl was found at the scene of the fourth murder in 1888

The piece marked out Polish immigrant Aaron Kosminski as the brutal killer that stalked the streets of Victorian London.

It was discovered at the scene of one of the murders in 1888 and kept by one of the detectives that worked on the case. Recent testing identified matched DNA found on the shawl to one of Kosminski's living relatives.

The findings have been contested by some.
