Heavy metal star's crystal piano to bring $73m for tsunami victims?

Heavy metaller Yoshiki of the Japanese band X Japan offered his crystal piano for auction online recently, in order to help victims of the tsunami.

Whatever he was expecting, it was certainly not as much as the 6bn yen ($73m) which one online user has bid. The amount is so startling that Yahoo! has suspended the auction to determine if the bid is serious.

Hundreds of celebrities and sportsmen from Japan and elsewhere have pitched in to help in the floods by auctioning memorabilia. Yahoo! will wait a few days before re-opening the auction.

Last week, Paul McCartney's 'Yesterday' piano sold for $240,000 in London
