A historic gown worn by Margot Fonteyn - widely regarded as one of the greatest classical ballet dancers of all time - for her role of Odile in Swan Lake will auction next Tuesday (June 8).
Kerry Taylor Auctions of London is offering the dress with an estimate of £40,000-60,000.
The role of Odile was one of Fonteyn's (1919-1991, pictured top right) most memorable and celebrated roles.
The dress of black velvet and tulle adorned with elaborate gold strapwork and sequins, also bears the Royal Opera house printed label bearing her name.

She danced this role with Nureyev from 1966-68 and 1971-73.
Fonteyn spent her entire career as a dancer with the Royal Ballet, eventually being appointed Prima Ballerina Assoluta of the company by Queen Elizabeth II.
Kerry Taylor's sale will be held in Pall Mall, London on Tuesday, June 8. Pre-sale viewings for interested buyers will be held on Sunday, June 6 and Monday, June 7.
