Celebrity charity shoe auction to help world's poorest children

Sienna Miller is among several celebrities donating their shoes to a charity auction later this year.

The actress and model is joined by stars of film, television and fashion in auctioning signed pairs of their size 12s for the Small Steps Project.

The charity supports children forced to live and work on rubbish dumps around the world.

The October 11 auction in London hopes to build on the success of last year's event, which achieved more than £20,000.

"These shoes were given with love. I loved dancing the night away in them and hope they can bring as much joy to someone else. It's a privilege to be able to donate to such a worthwhile charity," said Miller, who also donated shoes for last year's event.

She has offered up a pair of her Stefanel heels while Keira Knightley is parting with her red Issas.

Designer Paul Smith has donated two pairs of loafers, and actress Gemma Arterton a pair of Armani heels she wore to an Armani Couture show.

Joanna Lumley, who is auctioning a pair of black and silver sandals, commented: "I am giving these adored items of footwear to be auctioned by Small Steps because I can't bear the idea of children living on rubbish dumps.

"I want someone to buy them for a ludicrously high sum and I'll send the buyer a blizzard of kisses in advance for the good that will be done for these families and their little ones who are, after all, simply victims of fate."

Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell and Bill Murray round out an all-star cast.

We will bring you full results of the auction in October.
