A pair of Adolf Hitler’s monogrammed boxer shorts are among the most intriguing lots in Alexander Historical Auctions’ September 13-14 sale.
The shorts feature Hitler's initials
Hitler left the striped linen underpants behind in his suite at the Parkhotel Graz in Austria, where he stayed from April 3-4, 1938.
They bear the initials “A.H.” near the fly and are unusually large because, as the auction house explains, Hitler was “in general an atrocious dresser and preferred the loosest clothing”.
The lot is expected to sell for $5,000-7,000.
This isn’t the first time intimate items of clothing from infamous Nazi party figures have sold at auction.
A pair of Eva Braun’s underpants sold for £2,900 ($3,617) at Philip Serrel Auctioneers last year.
