Trafalgar medals, memorabilia realise $17,500 at Sworders

A collection of memorabilia and a medal from the Battle of Trafalgar have sold as part of Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers' November 19 auction in the UK.

The General Service Medal with Trafalgar clasp was awarded to William Martin, a midshipman who served on the HMS Minotaur in the 1805 battle. Accompanied by a miniature portrait of a young Martin, as well as a photograph of him when elderly, the collection sold for £10,760 ($17,329).
