A fine and rare 16-bore silver-mounted Flintlock pistol of presentation quality is to auction at Bonhams on April 24.
The pistol is expected to achieve £12,000-15,000 ($18,000-23,000) at the London sale, testament to its quality, age and condition.

Made by eminent London gun makers J Knubley, the decorative pistol bears its maker's personal mark "Michael Barnett" as well as 1786 silver hallmarks.
The antique pistol boasts a profusely inlaid barrel, a sliding silver safety catch and a gold-inlaid set trigger.

Also to feature in the sale are a number of rare officers' caps and helmets circa 1800-1900, including an 1812-1816 regulation Pattern Shako estimated at £6,000 ($9,100) and an ostentatious 1856 full dress fifth royal Irish lancers cap complete with lustrous plume, thought to be worth £4,000 ($6,100).
