The first Distinguished Flying Cross ever awarded to an Indian airman is offered in Morton & Eden's November 26 sale in London with a valuation of £20,000-30,000 ($31,684-47,527).
It was awarded to Squadron Leader Karun Krishna "Jumbo" Majumda - known as "the father of the Indian Air Force".

Sadly Majumda never claimed the medal, or any of the others awarded to him. He was killed while performing in an air show in 1945.
The lot is sold alongside an archive of materials, including his dog tags and log book.
