Beisswenger's Luftwaffe pilot logbook to make up to $9,500?

Luftwaffe ace Hans Beisswenger's pilot logbook is among the highlights of a sale of arms and armour at Antony Cribb Ltd in Oxfordshire, UK on April 14.

Flugbuch Luftwaffe Cribb
The book documents the exploits of Luftwaffe pilot Hans Beisswenger

The lot, which carries an estimate of £4,000-6,000 ($6,208-9,312), records his exploits between 1939 and 1942.

Beisswenger was the 34th highest ranked pilot in the Luftwaffe, with over 500 combat missions flown and 150 enemy aircraft shot down.

He operated primarily on the Eastern front, which saw some of the most vicious fighting of the second world war, and was killed in combat in March 1943, aged just 26.
