Deities, mythological and historical figures and more are depicted on a series of rare Greek coins which are going under the hammer at New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel.
The collection, totalling more than 640 lots, has an estimated value of around $8m.
Ancient Greek coins are regarded by collectors and experts alike as being among the finest pieces of numismatic art ever produced.
Condition and rarity are optimum in this collection, which boasts specimens from "across the Greek world" according to ancient coin specialist Paul Hill.
