Doyle auctioneers of New York held a successful sale of Coins, Bank Notes, Postage Stamps and Gemstones on November 1.
The auction offered property from a variety of prominent estates and private collections - with a number of numismatic gems included among the lots.
According to Doyle, the event attracted competitive international bidding from buyers in the salesroom, on the telephones and via the internet.

Total sales reached $496,366, nicely above the auction house's $301,925-411,725 estimate. Overall 83% of the pieces sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
Highlights in the auction included a Hawaii $10 bank note, sold for $134,500. It appeared alongside stamps, gemstones and other treasures.
Also among the star lots was an historic Venezuela Indian Tribal Series coin, which realised $13,125.
