€80k Polish rarity and other coins for sale in Munich

After recently opening its new branch in Munich, Germany, collectible coin auctioneer Kuenker is gearing up for its Spring auctions between March 8-12.

Highlights in its sale will include this Polish coin from the reign of King Stephen Báthory, between 1576-86.

The coin's sharply-carved surface depicts King Stephen himself holding a sceptre, alongside the coats of arms of Poland and Lithuania.

This Polish coin from 1580 is estimated at €80k

Dating from 1580 and weighing 28.36g, the coin is described as an "attractive copy" by Kuenker.

Of the utmost rarity, it will auction with an estimated value of €80,000.

Numismatic rarities from the Greek, Roman and other eras will also feature in next month's sale.

In the meantime, for collectors unable to wait until Kuenker's sale, here is a selection of other rare, antique and ancient coins available on the market.
