A 1916 George V gold sovereign is to headline a sale of Canadian coins at Heritage Auctions in Chicago.
It's valued at $125,000-150,000 ahead of the August 13 sale.

The coin was minted in a run of 6,111 pieces, although very few of those remain.
Heritage explains: "No one seems to know exactly what happened to all of the 1916-C Sovereigns, although there are theories.
"One is, of course, that they were all melted, but a very few pieces. This remains unconfirmed. The other is that the majority of the mintage was lost at sea, during World War I, on the way to England as an international payment between Canada and England.
"This, also, remains unconfirmed…
"All we know is, the issue is exceedingly rare, and this example is the single finest known certified by either PCGS or NGC."
A 1921 George V 50 cent piece is another highlight, with a valuation of $100,000-115,000.
The lot is often referred to as the King of Canadian Coins in reference to its extreme rarity (around 75 remain from an initial mintage of 206,398).
