1873-CC 25c Arrows quarter to lead New York sale

An AU55-graded 1873-CC 25c Arrows quarter will headline a sale of US coins from the Garret collection at Heritage Auctions in New York.

It's valued in excess of $58,750 ahead of the October 28 start date.

The 1873 Carson City quarter was produced in a run of 12,462

The coin is among the best examples of this rare quarter, with only two specimens graded higher.

Heritage comments: "The Carson City Mint produced only one issue of the Arrows, Motto type, the 1873-CC.

"Just 12,462 coins were produced, and most spent years in circulation… opportunities to acquire high-grade representatives from this issue are nearly as rare as the coins themselves."
