This 1966 Shelby 47 Cobra has had just owners, and will be looking for its third at RM Auctions' Sports & Classics of Monterey sale on August 12-14.
Unsurprisingly, the sale is being billed as a once in a lifetime opportunity for collectors - and the Cobra's lucky third owner will have a car that is eligible for entry into a variety of collectors' venues.

According to RM, the Cobra's present owner purchased it (chassis no CSX 3265) back in 1985 and treated it to a lengthy restoration.
Since then, CSX 3265 has regularly appeared in Road and Track events and SAAC Shows over the past quarter century.
The historic automobile boasts low mileage, showing less than 11,000 miles from new, and still has its original factory body panels painted in the correct 1965 427 Cobra color of Lincoln Silver Mink.

Beneath the bonnet is the same 550-horsepower Holman Moody 427 side-oiler engine that was installed by the car's first owner, Harold Everett, early in its history.
As the auction's name suggests, RM's sale will be held in Monterey, California.
