Vintage motorcycles make a stir at 'world's largest' car sale

A 1976 Munch Titan vintage motorcycle was the star sale at the annual Auburn Collector Car Auction & Show, netting $187,000.

It was part of an estate totalling about 40 items, including various rare motorcycles. The auction was held last Monday, September 7.

The event attracted some lively bidding, particularly between two men from Knoxville, Tennessee and Tallahassee, Florida over the ownership of a 1932 BSA three-wheeler.

The $14,000 winning bid for the bike cam from Knoxville bidder, Larry Newbury.

Two 1967 Munch motorcycles were also sold for $85,000 and $38,000.

The successful sales were a good celebration of the Munch motorcycle's legacy.

It has, "become a status symbol to have one of these bikes," said one buyer, according to journalgazzette.net.
