A unique 1953 Ferrari 166MM with a remarkable racing history will auction through Artcurial in Paris on February 7, 2014 as part of its Retromobile sale.
The one of a kind machine (not the example shown above) features bodywork by esteemed Belgian designer Oblin and has retained its original chassis - 0300M - drivetrain and engine.
Among the long list of racing accolades that it has earned is finishing second in the Coupes de Spa-Francorchamps, first in class in the XVI Rallye des Alpes and first in class at the Liege-Rome-Liege rally - all in the year it was made.
Since being purchased by its current owner in 2012, it has undergone a period-correct restoration that cost around $400,000. It is now presented exactly how it appeared in the 1955 Brussels Motor Show and is ready for further competition use.
