A Royal Blue Aston Martin DB5, which has been through an 18-month period of in-depth restoration, is to auction on July 27.

The classic Aston Martin DB5 – James Bond’s car of choice

The timeless sports car is expected to make £325,000 ($506,073) when it goes under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions' Classics sale.

Boasting a re-chromed exterior and a re-trimmed interior, the car is destined to set collectors' pulses racing.

Offered without a reserve, recent sales results suggest the DB5 could prove very popular indeed.

Earlier this month, a rare Aston Martin DB6 sold for $825,000 at Bonhams.
