Following the recent auction excitement in Scottsdale, Arizona, here's a quick glimpse at what you can expect to see in 2012. Among the classic car sales to add to your calendar is an auction taking place in Fort Lauderdale, US, between March 16-18.
This rare and wonderful 1958 Chevrolet Corvette will be among the sale's highlights. The car features the updated body and interior that Chevy added to its Corvettes in 1958.
Notable changes to the car included a longer front end, quad headlamps, exterior brightwork, a new steering wheel, a passenger grab bar and - to acknowledge increasing awareness of driver safety - seatbelts.
Also of note is the car's updated dashboard, with all its gauges mounted directly in front of the driver. These include a 160 mph speedometer. Design exclusives on the car's exterior included hood louvers and twin trunk spars.

Design magazines responded to the 1958 Corvette's mechanical and design changes with positive reviews at the time of the car's release.
They were also impressed with the car's performance, handling, and its reasonable price. Chevy would produce 9,168 examples of its updated Corvette over subsequent years.
This '58 Corvette boasts a rare and desirable colour combination of white with silver coves and a red interior. It also has a white pinpoint vinyl top and a matching white hardtop.
According to the auctioneer, the car has been fully-restored and driven little since then.
This is one of approximately 1,500 Corvette's built in 1958. It carries a $75,000-100,000 presale estimate and will auction with no reserve.
