Dana Mecum's Original Spring Classic sale is in its 24th year, and a number of fine muscle cars will be offered at the event when it revs-up on Thursday, May 19. The event will also be broadcast on US national television.
American car collectors can't get enough of Chevrolet Corvettes. And bidders won't be disappointed when this 1970 LT1 Coupe rolls onto the auction block at the St Marengo, Illinois, US, sale...
According to Mecum, this 1970 Corvette's past accolades include a NCRS Top Flight Award in 2002. In fact, the lot notes bill it as "is quite literally probably the most original [1970 Corvette LT1] in the world today."

Those are words that this car will be sure to match, with a solid lifter LT1 350/370 HP small block engine under its bonnet, complimented by a transistorised ignition and 4.11 heavy-duty positraction differential (and 151 documented on the odometer).
As the lot notes rightly state: "Wow!"
Add to that its Monza Red factory paint job and a Black Custom interior package that includes leather seats, wood-grain accents and cut-pile carpeting... This little red Corvette could perhaps be one of the most beautiful as well.
