Gooding & Company's upcoming Scottsdale, Arizona, event is shaping up to be very remarkable indeed, with some of the markets' most coveted classic automobiles appearing for sale.
Alongside such highlights as the Lamborghini Miura P400 and a 'concours winning' 1964 Jaguar E-Type is an offering that could potentially outshine them both.
Appearing with a $700,000-800,000 estimate is an original 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, among the most sought-after collectors' cars in the world.

Having benefitted from "recent cosmetic attention" the Gullwing - which boasts a 2,996 CC SOHC Inline Six-Cylinder Engine - will be offered with tools, books, luggage and full records.
Gooding & Co's sale starts tomorrow, January 21, Mountain Standard Time, and concludes on January 22. Watch this space for results from the auction.
