Ferrari endorsed by Steve McQueen could roll to $750,000 in Scottsdale

US auction house Gooding & Company is inviting consignments to its next auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, due to take place on January 21-22, 2011.

The event is likely to offer a selection of the highest-calibre automobiles on the market - especially if its past sales are anything to go by.

Highlights at last year's Scottsdale auction included the iconic 1972 Ferrari 365/4 Daytona Spider which appeared with a $1m estimate.

The 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, estimated at six figures

Another Ferrari will be among the highlights on Gooding & Co's auction block this year: the 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso.

This car carries expectations: rock star Eric Clapton and Hollywood legend Steve McQueen each drove 1964 Lussos (with the latter selling for $2.3m in August, 2007, by Christie's in California).

The 1963 will appear in Scottsdale with a $600,000-750,000 estimate, and is likely to attract alternative investors from all over the world.

Collectors interested in consigning automobiles to Gooding & Co's sale can find more information on their website.
