RM Auctions has announced that it will sell one of the legendary Ferrari 275 GTB/4 N.A.R.T Spyders as part of its auction at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

The car will cross the block at the August 16-17 event in Monterey, California, which is one of the world's premier collector car shows. At the request of the owner, it is to be sold to help charitable causes.
RM Auctions expects the Ferrari to be one of the most valuable motor cars ever offered in Monterey.
The late 60s car is particularly sought after by collectors due to its low production number, with just 10 ever made at the request of Ferrari's North American distributor and famous Le Mans winner, Luigi Chinetti.
Chassis number 09437 sold for $3.9m at auction in 2005, but this example will far outstrip that price.
Described by Road & Track magazine as "the most satisfying sports car in the world", the example at auction, chassis 10709, is even more desirable due to its single owner provenance and low mileage.
It belonged to businessman and philanthropist Eddie Smith Sr who, as a respected Ferrari enthusiast, ordered the car from new and collected it from the factory in Maranello, Italy.
"In making the difficult decision to part with the N.A.R.T. Spyder, we wanted to do something that would have brought a smile to my dad's face," says Eddie Smith Jr.
"He owned Ferraris for all the right reasons and loved driving and enjoying them in the company of fellow enthusiasts. We feel that it needs to be enjoyed and driven by someone who will appreciate the car with the same passion as he did."
Other famous owners include actor and famous collector Steve McQueen, who bought his model after driving an N.A.R.T Spyder in the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair.
