One of the Porsches that Tom Cruise drove in the cult movie Risky Business will feature in an upcoming sale of movie memorabilia on July 31.

The 1983 teen comedy is noted as the film which launched Cruise's career and cemented his reputation as a Hollywood heartthrob. The Porsche is the only surviving one of three driven by Cruise during the movie and is reportedly the car in which he learned to drive a manual gearbox.
Following production, the Porsche was taken to California and painted white before being restored to its original colour by the producer of an in-depth documentary on the car entitled The Quest for RB928. It is now considered the most famous Porsche 928 in the world by the brand's enthusiasts and was previously on display at Denver's Fornay Museum of Transport.
The auction house's Joe Maddelena commented: "When the movie came out, it was a two-hour commercial for Porsche; it literally put them on the map... maybe Porsche will buy it back."
While Paul Fraser Collectibles highly doubts that Porsche will be interested in the car, it is sure to attract strong attention from Tom Cruise fans. It will auction with an estimate of $40,000-60,000.
