Chevrolet and Dodge should wow collectors at Barrett-Jackson's 2011 sale

Barrett-Jackson have released their line-up for the 40th Annual Scottsdale Classic Car Auction in 2011, and one of the definite highlights will be the exciting and pristine collection of American muscle cars from leading car collector Keith Henderson.

"Keith has been a Barrett-Jackson consignor for many years and his vehicles always generate buzz during our auctions," said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson.

"These amazing muscle cars reflect his knowledge, expertise and ownership of some of the finest muscle cars in the world. The sale will definitely be a show stopper."

Amongst the lots are three standout vehicles that prove that 1970 was a very fine year for American cars, and all are sure to be popular with collectors when they go under the hammer.

The 1970 Chevrolet Camaro "Stage II" Cheverra

First is a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro "Stage II" Cheverra that represents a true piece of automotive and racing history. An excellent example of Herb Adams VSE Cheverra and the superb engineering work done by Adams while at General Motors, the car will be a highly sought-after addition to any enthusiast's garage.

Second is a professionally restored brown on black 1970 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda coupe, featuring a 426 cid HEMI V8 engine with a column shift automatic transmission. The muscle car produces up to 425 horsepower and is registered as one of one in Citron Mist paint.

"Since the Plymouth brand was retired in 2001, these classics have definitely caught the attention of even more collectors," said Gary Bennett, vice president of consignment for Barrett-Jackson. "They were well-liked during the late '60s and early '70s and continue to generate high interest at our auctions."

Third amongst the notable lots is a striking 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A with a rare pink on white colour combination. It has a 340 cid Six Pack V8 with a four-speed transmission, power steering and brakes and will be sold as a pair with a 2010 Furious Fuchsia Challenger number 135 of 400 manufactured.

As Henderson himself says, "These muscle cars will definitely be a wonderful addition to any collection because of their desirable sleek and stylish packaging as well as the power under the hood."

2010 has already seen some stunning muscle cars sold at auction with many reaching record-breaking prices, and as this collection gets ready to go under the hammer the anticipation will be building for enthusiasts and investors alike. With experts agreeing that collectible cars can prove to be a solid investment, the market looks set to go from strength to strength in 2011.
