Now available on the UK private market is a pre-war 1932 Jowett Blackbird (KX 7949, first registered on January 4 that year) priced at $11,923.

This car is as rare as it is old, and powered by a two-cylinder, seven horsepower engine that cruises happily at 35mph, complimented by a very good three-speed gearbox.

According to the seller, the Blackbird was regularly featured in automobile shows and rallies by its last owner, and has covered over 2,000 miles in the last three years.

For sale in Malton, North Yorkshire, the car comes with a detailed history file including handbooks, a "buff" logbook, MOTs dating back to 1991 and various invoices and service and maintenance logs.

With a recent driving performance which proves it's reliable on the road as ever, this is truly a vintage car that a collector should buy to drive and enjoy.
