Classic automobiles of all shapes and sizes will be rolling into Kansas City as part of Mecum's sale on December 2-4. And among them is this rolling piece of art from 1957...
This Ford Thunderbird F Bird Convertible is one of just 212 factory supercharged cars built, with 312/300hp under its bonnet.
According to Mecum's notes, the automobile has been treated to a full nut and bolt frame-off restoration by Hills Automatic of Racine, Ohio. It has matching numbers and all the correct equipment and colours.

Hills evidently did a good job: the Thunderbird has since won a number of high-profile awards, including the Classic Thunderbird Club International Gold Medallion and Excellence in Authenticity.
Elsewhere, the car was awarded "Best of Show" at Vintage Thunderbird Club International in Denver 2008 where it scored a 299 1/2 out of a possible 300 points.
Not surprisingly, this top show car has been given pride of place in Mecum's upcoming Kansas City sale and will be sure to set tongues wagging, next week.
