$950k for the 'most important racer of the late-1950s'

Unbelievably, there are just two weeks to go until RM Auction's Amelia Island sale.

As usual, the sale will feature a collection of the finest and most powerful classic automobiles the world - among which a big highlight will be the 1958 Tojeiro-Jaguar Sports Racer.

This ex-Ecurie Ecosse car was unquestionably one of the most important and beautiful sports racers of its era.

The example on offer at Amelia Island has been meticulously prepared and restored to the highest standards, true to the vision of the car's creator John Tojeiro.

The 1958 Tojeiro-Jaguar Sports Racer, estimated at $750k-950k

Only four of these remarkable autos were built, with a diver history which includes racing legends like Ron Flockhart, Ivor Bueb, Innes Ireland and Tony Maggs.

The Tojeiro-Jaguar Sports Racer will be offered with a very rare E1A/E2A type alloy block, three-liter Jaguar engine and ZF gearbox.

Scheduled to auction on Saturday, March 13, this remarkable racer carries an estimate of $750,000-950,000.

RM's Amelia Island event follows on from its January Automobiles of Arizona auction, which realised total sales of $19.6m and an impressive 89% sell-through rate.
