A 2011 HRT Formula One car will be put up for auction on eBay by tyre manufacturer Pirelli, after the company failed to find a use for it.

The company acquired the car, which lacks an engine and gearbox, from the now-defunct Spanish racing team following its collapse at the end of the 2012 season. Pirelli had planned to display the car at a range of business events and showrooms, but has been met with a lack of interest.

The car will now be sold to raise funds for charity. Five other HRT cars were bought by a Spanish company in February 2013, which reportedly hopes to re-sell them.
