The Ford Capri was a popular racer on the British saloon circuit

The lot sold at Silverstone Auctions' Race Retro Competition Car Sale in Coventry, UK on February  26. 

The Capri was one of the more popular saloon racers of the 1970s due to its easy adaptability to racing, while CC Racing was a very successful British team that included some of the best drivers in the business.

The present lot was built for a 1979 24 hour Spa race. Afterwards it was sold on to an enthusiast and raced in the Northern saloon championships.
