A 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda took the top spot at Mecum Auctions' January 17-26 sale in Kissimmee, Florida, realising $560,000.
The Hemi Cuda is regarded as one of the best extant examples of a muscle car, and is essentially a standard Plymouth Cuda modified with an enormous Hemi 426 engine - nicknamed "The Elephant".
It was sold in original condition, with only 33,000 miles on the clock.
We have Paul Newman's racing jacket for sale.
