A 1937 Maserati Tipo single seat racing Veturetta with a valuation of £600,000-900,000 ($994,698-1.4m) is to auction in Bonhams' Goodwood Revival sale on September 13.
The six-cylinder lot was designed to compete with cars produced by ERA (English Racing Automobiles), which was besting all comers at the 1500cc level.

It proved a highly efficient racer, developing a strong reputation on the tracks of Europe.
Austin Dobson, a renowned British driver, was the first owner of the example offered in the sale and raced it extensively at some of the biggest events in the UK - including the British Grand Prix and the Jersey Road Race.
It's one of two Maseratis on offer, the other being a four-cylinder 1,100cc model built in 1932 that carries an estimate of £400,000-600,000 ($663,544-995,316).
James Knight, Bonhams' group head of motoring, commented: "Maserati is currently enjoying its centenary year, and these well known and highly respected examples of the marque are a wonderful tribute.
"They rarely come to market because they are so rare, with just 20 4CMs and 27 6CMs built in period.
"They each have a glorious period racing history, and are a worthy addition for any Maserati collector."
Bonhams' Goodwood Revival features a stunning array of classic racers, including a 1936 Lagonda LG45 Rapide and a 1930 OM Mille Miglia.
