An extremely rare 1933 second series Lancia Astura Drophead Coupe will provide one of the main draws at Silverstone Auctions' May 17 auction in the UK.

It is one of just 750 series two examples ever made, with far fewer surviving today. The Drophead Coupe model is particularly rare, warranting a £95,000-110,000 ($144,790-167,652) estimate.
According to the auction house, a saloon model recently made £230,000 ($350,545) at auction.
Bearing the production number 1099, the car is in reasonable condition, although major restoration work is now 35 years old. It is currently owned by a renowned UK Lancia collector, who will drive it to the sale complete with its MOT and up to date tax disc.
Sharing the estimate held by the Lancia is a 1964 Ferrari 330GT series one, which was one in a run of just 503. The series one example can be distinguished from other models by its four headlight design, along with its Gioacchino Colombo-designed 300bhp engine.
Known as one of the fastest cars of the mid-1960s, the 330GT is in excellent condition and has recently been stripped and resprayed in the correct Ferrari Blu Pozzi colour.

However, the star of the show for many collectors will be a unique 1975 Maserati Merak, which has been given a complete restoration and redesign by Carrosserie Saurer, resulting in what Paul Saurer described as his ideal "hot Merak".
It has since been exhibited at several high-profile UK concours events and is well known among the collector car community.
On April 27, the Don Davis Classic Car Collection will be offered at RM Auctions, starring a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS.
