Thomas Talbot Bury's Six Coloured Views leads railwayana auction

Thomas Talbot Bury's Six Coloured Views on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway and Six Coloured Views on the London and Birmingham Railway have sold as a single lot at Dreweatts and Bloomsbury.

Bury railwayana
Bury produced the detailed views of British railway lines during the mid 19th century

They realised a total of £7,000 ($11,880) at the railwayana auction in London on June 12 - up 40% on a £5,000 ($8,486) estimate.

Both books date to the mid-19th century and offer fascinating views of the two lines. They were described as being in particularly good condition, marred only by some light spotting, and are exceptionally rare.
