This example of the famous book is numbered 412 of 500 and includes an additional set of plates signed by Foujita.

It was published in 1930 and proved hugely popular. Original copies remain in strong demand among collectors.

Foujita moved to Paris in 1913 and swiftly became the talk of the town. He was friends with everyone from Picasso to Isadora Duncan.

Another example of the book sold for $74,500 at Bonhams New York in 2012.

Gottfried Mind's Oeuvre de Geofroi Mind de Berne is valued at £4,000-6,000 ($6,104-9,156).

Mind was an autistic artist referred to as "the Raphael of Cats".

The lot consists of various aquatint plates displaying cats in a variety of poses and is a classic example of Mind's distinctive work.

The collection as a whole belonged to Marianne C Gourary, a New York based cat lover who amassed a huge selection of books and artworks on her favourite subject.
