A rare first edition copy of The Cat in the Hat by Dr Seuss is among the top lots in PBA Galleries' July 31 Fine Literature sale in San Francisco, with an $8,000-12,000 estimate.

The house describes the lot as an "extraordinarily fine copy, certainly the nicest we've seen, perhaps the finest copy extant."
