First editions of works by the likes of Anthony Burgess, Ezra Pound and Sylvia Plath will feature in Bloomsbury's forthcoming English & Continental Printed Books and Modern First Editions sale on Thursday, January 28.

Among the highlights is a 1933 first edition of From a View of Death by Anthony Powell - the author's third novel.
This copy is notable for its enclosed dedication from the author, on font-free endpaper, to John Wyndham, the renowned writer of The Day of the Triffids.
The book boasts its original cloth and dust-jacket by Misha Black.
Despite slight spotting, slight edge-wear and minor creasing, and a browned spine, the copy remains a unusually good example of Powell's classic work.
It will go to auction with an estimate of £2,500-3,500.
